Brown rice mochi is a delicious whole grain food made from glutinous sweet rice. The rice is steamed and pounded, then dried. These slices have a pleasantly chewy texture and the nourishing flavor of whole grain. This variety is made mixing mugwort into the brown rice mochi adding the deep green color and refreshing flavor to the mochi. Fry in a little oil or toast until puffed up and golden brown, then serve with a sweet or savory dip such as shoyu or according to taste.

How to use
Mochi is a versatile and convenient ingredient in home cooking. It can be enjoyed as a light snack or meal. Simply grill it until it gets puffed and dipping in soy sauce would be a satisfying snack.
You can also cook mochi by one of the following methods until it puffs up and softens.
Serve with your favorite dips, spreads, sauces or toppings.
Pan-fried: fry in a lightly oiled, covered pan over medium-low heat, turning once. Great wrapped in toasted nori with a tamari-ginger dip or dip in warmed rice malt for sweet snack.
Baked: bake mochi on cookie sheet in a medium oven or toaster oven until puffed. Check frequently as it gets burned easily. Delicious with miso-based topping or sauce, or cut baked mochi into bite -sized pieces and add soups or stews at the last minute.
